Beats by Dre Headphones Review by Chris Pirillo – The “Beats” Headphones
Have you heard about the new noise-canceling headphones: “Beats by Dre” ? Thinking of buying them? wandering if the headphones work and the features? Here is a video review by Gadget Geek Chris Pirillo
This are the “beats” by Dr. Dre, courtesy of Monster. I’m addicted to gadgets, gizmos and certainly audio gear. I’ve owned a few noise canceling headsets back in the day. I prefer the over the ear headphones than the ear buds. One of the things that struck me almost right away when I started to listen to podcasts or music on the beats is that I felt immersed. They designed it so it fits completely around your ear. I’ve had noise-canceling headphones that sat on my ear but the problem with that is the amount of sweat on your ear.
They specifically designed the beats.. perhaps Dre probably had his hand on the design of the product.. to minimize the amount of sweat on the ear.
They fit very comfortably. Let me connect one of the cables to teh headset. It comes with two cables. This cable that I’m connecting has a little attachment to it. This cable is specifically designed to plug in the iphone. It will allow you to talk on the microphone on your ipod while keeping your headphones in your ear. It’s actually kinda smart.
Let’s open up itunes here. What’s nice is that the mute button is on the side. You won’t even know unless you press it. Just press and hold it in this “b” button. When you press it down you will have muited the audio that it’s coming through. Let’s play that annoying Chris Pirillo. I think I will be more inclined to use this cable primarily. It has the protective case. The headphones run on two double As batteries. Which is nice. They do feel comfortable in my ear.
I’m not really sold on the whole branding on it, I realize they are beats by Dr. Dre. It’s cool and anything. I’m sure they are more of a fashion statement with the marketing and everything.
I will definitely be taking this along with me, if only because of this. I realize it’s so silly but having an iphone, this cable makes the beats worth it for me, it really does. Now, if you wanna get your own beats follow the link on this site.
Currently retailing for around $300 which is very competitive as far as noise canceling headphones are concerned. And believe me, once you have a ncie pair of headphones and you go back to a cheaper pair you realize why it’s worth spending the money.
Even if I don’t have anything to listen to. Just putting them on and flipping the button on, hearing the white noise. So thank you for making this mini review happening.
