I finally settled. It is actually gonna be a loop, fuck it. It doesn’t happen a lot, usually I have to layer drums. The option of chopping something up is that you have more room to play what you want it to play.

When I rock with the mpd, sometimes I just fuck around with it and if I find a beat that I think it needs some extra sounds and I can’t find any on a record, I will go back to some synth shit that I have.

Those are the unique sounds that separate great records from classic records. All the little touches. For the ones holding on to the old school ways i think it’s dope, we should keep it with the mpcs and sps. But there’s nothing wrong with exploring where it’s going. So I’m always looking for new shit. When you incorporate you might hear a sound like this, sounds cheesy.. but when you incorporate with a sample it all makes sense. A lot of times when I make vids I don’t have an artist in mind. I get my best shit when I’m not thinking about anything, just sit down and make a beat.
