Very basic video for the true beginner. What is hardware, what is software? How to make your own beats from your home studio

I will teach you how to make a hip hop beat. Your first hip hop beat. A basic beat. There’s two things you have when you start to produce music: Hardware and software. Hardware is whatever you can grab and put your hands on. It can be instruments, a keyboard, a microphone, a drum machine.
The keyboard here has many sounds to be more than just a piano. You can use it as a violin, cello, drums, etc. It’s some sort fos smampling in a way, since it has all those soudns recorded.

Here we have an acoustic guitar that we will record into our microphone. There are two types of microphones, a condenser mic and a dynamic mic. The dynamic microphone doesnt have power of itw own and it records in the shape sort of like a mushroom top starting at the head of the microphone. If you were usinga condenser mic just like the shotgun or also the long skinny micropphones are condenser microphones. They have power of their own.

For my computer I am using a Mac G5 and we will be running different applications with many different audio input and outputs. So you need a strong computer for that.

The mixer is just a basic 16 channel mixer.
