Here’s another video from a music producer on youtube, showing you his simple & basic equipment to make hip hop beats.

Online Beat Maker
- Video  transcript – Whazzup y’all, this is funky fingers. (no, no one really knows who he is) If you all wanna know how does funky fingers make his beats it’s really simple. You will need a midi keyboard, and I got a trigger finger that I use for drums.

Now, i also use the keyboard for drums but it’s a little bit easier with the trigger finger. It’s more natural. Now, virtually I used fruity loops and Acid pro to mix my beats. And this is what I use for my drums. Fruity loops come with about 60 or 70 different instruments that you can use to make your beats. So that’s what I use.

This is a beat I made called pacts. As you can see I got about 8 to 9 tracks. Keep your tracks separate, always remember. Keep all your drums, all your keys. Once you put everything together, there’s no way going back. I will play this beat now. This is a beat that I made called Pax. I like to start with some drums then to come back with some instrumentals.

Now, you don’t have to be an expert keyboardist to play the keyboard. Play around a little bit. I’m not an expert keyboarder but I need what sounds to make. Remember, get a keyboard, get a drum machine and the right software. Funky Fingers, peace.

I really wish more home recording tutorials were geared toward beginners who aren’t electrical engineers.
